Can't let the day get by

Without telling the man of my dreams that he's Amazing!!!!
Happy 17th Anniversary
to the most wonderful man a girl could ask for!
You are all that ~ and then fact, a whole lotta some!!
Honored to share your last name.........
Blessed to have you in my life........
In awe of the father that you are to our peanuts....
Humbled by the Godly man that you are......
Completely in love with you after all these years.....

Maybe a bit late......

but worth the read.........

1 Corinthians 13---Christmas Version
If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime: but do not show love to my family, I'm just another cook.
If I work at a soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and give all that I have to charity; but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir's cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the spouse.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love does not envy another's home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love does not yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way.
Love does not give only to those who are able to give in return; but rejoices in giving to those who cannot.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
Love never fails.
Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust; but giving the gift of love will endure.

Thank you Lord

A couple of very cool things;
First, I found this amazing site called, Superkids. They are a nonprofit organization that sends pediatric therapists (physical, occupational, speech, and play) to orphanages around the world.
In October, they were in Ellie's orphanage, and on a whim I decided to email them and sent pictures.
Here was the reply from Janet, the founder of this beautiful organization:
I absolutely recognize your daughter!
The first time I met her, she was in a playroom. She was smiling and very inquisitive. I think I must have looked funny to her. She is VERY SWEET and seems VERY HAPPY. She was noticeably the most active child in her group. She was walking all over the place and trotting back and forth between her caregiver and me. She seemed sociable and friendly. She was bright and alert - and sooooo beautiful.
Wow. Wow. Wow.
We all yelled out together " she can WALK!!" - as her (limited) records were not very clear.
Indeed, I think our family's Christmas was just made perfect by this little email.
Thank you sweet Jesus.
We received our PA today - which is just a pre-approval before the approval.....
I kind of selfishly wished we could have been able to skip over that and go
straight to the approval.
But this is how things are done, and it's did and done!!!
whatever that meant!
Blessings, blessings and more blessings to you !

I'm so NOT a poet.......

Twas the night before Christmas
and as I sat thinking of things I hold dear,
I thought of all the blessings over this past wonderful year.
My children, my husband, the joy of being his wife
There is no way to express the fullness of my life.
In awe, I thought of all the precious bloggers that have become so dear,
Some of them far and yet in my heart, near.
Kimmy, with her sweet, sweet beautiful smile,
I love her dearly, even though I haven’t “talked” to her in awhile!
Steph, who should be my sister - I wish it could be so,
But then I'd want to be at her house everyday, and what a distance I’d have to go!
Amy In Oregon, your truly such a blessing,
You have been my everything in this adoption journey, I’m never left guessing!
Rachelle, your beautiful, honest and have taught me much,
We share names of daughters and husbands and such.
Robin, you amazing wonderful talented gal who makes poetry look slick,
I hope my attempt doesn’t make you sick.
Emom, your wisdom, your words hold truth that none can deny,
To God be the Glory comes from your blog; His name be praised on High!
Daleea, oh my goodness girl, precious is what oozes out of you,
Your blog is a treat, it’s a daily visit I must always do!
Lori, oh Lori, why can’t we be neighbors sitting on your porch swing,
Perhaps when we get to Heaven, I’ll ask for that one little thing!
Steffie, your adorable funny and sweet,
Your tribe make us laugh and smile, they really are a treat!
Amy in Germany, so beautiful, orphans are truly your heart,
You’ve been my first bloggy friend, right from the start!
When “what? What has happened? Whats that, that you say??”A precious little blessing from Shanghai is coming to stay??!!!
The shock, the excitement, the tears and the Joy
It’s finally happening, it’s a girl not a boy!!
And all of those precious bloggers, when hearing our news, Oh my!
Rejoiced with us, praising the One Most High
I have been so blessed by so many, so many you see,
The Walkers, Becky, The Oatsvalls, Amy, Mom of 5 and Elizabeth (whos going before me!)
There’s also a special lady, whom I’m going to call
Laurie in Ca., your words to those hurting, comfort all.
Sweet Jesus in Heaven, I don’t deserve all that You do.
You’ve given me life, to the fullest, I shall never be blue!
So as I close my hokey, but heartfelt little rendition…
Guess what, we just paid off my Ford Expedition!!!!!!!!!!
and for that I am EXCITED !!
Like I said- hey, I even warned you, I am not a poet.
Not even a little!!
Precious Blessings to you all~
Have a wonderful, Christ filled, Christmas!
Lots of love from Oregon.

Remember my 'bookcase' post?

My God never ceases to AMAZE me.
He cares about all details, big and small.
Here is just one of them; He provided us with a bookcase that I've been obsessing wanting for my boy's room.
My beautiful friend Kristi
cool name, huh? was over here and as she's listening to my story about looking for one, she turns to me and says " I have one just sitting in my garage!"
Okay, not only that; but she built the thing herself!
As for me, being tool/measurement/all the above 'challenged'- I am q-u-i-t-e amazed here, to say the least.
It's beautiful - the picture doesn't do it justice.
Want another story? Wanna hear what else He's doing?
I'm going to tell you anyway
We have been needing a new laptop battery for our trip to China. We've been pricing them - but I'm sure as you know, they're not cheap!
So one one day last week I get this email from another precious friend (who has no idea) asking us if we want a battery.
Their laptop completely died on them, and they are going to go purchase a new computer- but, she had just bought a new battery two months ago - so she was wondering if we wanted it.......................He cares about all details. All of them.

Just a quick post!
Sorry for not keeping up - we still have not heard much of anything.
I'm real good at it.
We celebrated Miss Ellie Grace's 2nd birthday on Friday with a few little friends in jammies!

Okay, so don't look to closely at the cake - I ran out of frosting.
Kinda weird celebrating your daughters birthday while she's still in China. We're here, she's over there.........we.want.her.home!!
I know Lord, soon.

Then, a sweet wonderful surprise; Rachelle sent these for our Ellie (she has a Ellie Grace too!)

Thank you so much my dear friend !
My kids have already started watching them, and are practicing their sign language.
Very cool !
Have a great week guys, keep praying for us!!!!
Blessings ~ xoxo
