Can I give it to everyone?

My first award!

Dear Sweet, Cute Kim in Canada honored me with this - and I am so honored!!

Please follow these rules. I am allowed to choose five (and only 5) who have been an encouragement, a source of love, impacted me in some way, and have been a Godly example to me. Five bloggers who when I reflect on them I get a sense of pride and joy… of knowing them and being blessed by them.
How hard is THAT?? Every single one of you have encouraged, impacted and been an amazing Godly example to me!!
Every. Single. One.
But, I must go by the rules and choose only 5..........
Here goes;
Kim : Whom I must nominate back! This precious girl share's her heart completely in her posts. Her fears, struggles and joys. (not to mention her precious example of living life as a step-mom)
I haven't known her for very long, but I too feel that this is a friendship that not only is fast forming - but one I deeply cherish! Oh, just click over to her blog and when you see her cute face smiling back at you; you 'll fall in love with her as did I !!!
Where to even start with this girl ?? Robin has taught me much about myself, and at the same time - cause's me to laugh out loud in front of my computer!
I hug my babies a little tighter- appreciate my dad's life while he was here on earth ,a little more- and so much more.....all because of my Robin. hee hee
There's just something about this girl (notice how I keep using the word 'girl'?)
We don't know each other that well, but I'm drawn to her blog.
Whether it's her cute smile, her cute- cute- CUTE kids, or her cute words......that's really how I would describe her!
Her faith and love for our Heavenly Father shows clearly in her writing.
She's one Godly gal in my book.
This girl, I believe, was my very first blogger Buddie friend. She has a special place in my heart......awwwww!!
A adoptive mom, who's been there and back; I have learned SO MUCH from her. She has shown incredible strength and faith - when times were extremely rough. Most would not have come through shining, as she clearly has.
God Bless you adorable heart Amy - I luv ya!
Oh, this is not fair. I have to choose only ONE more - how is that possible??? **sigh ** I must. So my final choice is:
When I'm a grandma - I wanna look as good as this girl !!
Lori's wisdom, her faith, everything about her radiates Jesus Christ.
Going through huge changes in her life right now, she keeps perspective.
Always giving God credit.
You amaze me Lori, and thank you for being the example that you are!!
I feel terrible though, you guys; being on vacation - I don't have much time to blog - but I REALLY wanted to get this one out there and done, so that I could honor my buddies! I could have, and maybe should have, gone on and on about each one of you. I'm sorry for making these all so short about each of you, but please know that you all totally and completely ROCK in my book! (that goes for all my awesome buddies that I didn't get to mention or nominate!)
Love to you all (from Seattle!!) ~

More Joy!

Joy (continued!)...
  • Joy comes by choosing to have a thankful spirit - God tells us to rejoice always and continually give Him thanks in all circumstances. For this is His will for us in Christ Jesus our Lord! Don't have the mindset that people and God owe you.
  • Joy comes by truly realizing all that you have been saved from - If you realize what we really deserve is Hell, and only by Gods grace are we going to Heaven, through the blood of Jesus, you can have Joy!
  • Joy comes from learning to "savor" life - Smells, nature, children, everything is a gift from God! Joy comes from not taking things for granted. Get excited over every little thing; your husband, children, and friends - and everything they do for you -you will be joyful and make them the same!!
  • Joy comes from working on our character - Be gracious. Think about others.
  • Joy comes from fitting into the role God designed you to be in - to love your husband and children, to be keepers of your home. Paul says in Romans 7:18 " I know that nothing good lives in me, that is in my sinful nature." He goes on to talk about how there can be no good in anyone without Christ. We will get depressed if we are always looking inward. Because, there is no one who is good enough to be even close to God. Even our best deeds are like filthy rags, because God is so Holy! Instead, fix your eyes on Jesus and set your mind on things above, and you will have Joy. (2 Cor. 4:18)
  • Joy comes from looking to the future - Not dwelling on the past. Proverbs 31 says " she smiles at the future."
  • Joy comes in giving yourself in service to others - First to your husband and children.
  • Joy comes by remembering that Heaven is coming very soon! - Even if we are in the midst of hardship, satan cannot steal our Joy if our eyes are fixed on Jesus, and work to have an eternal perspective on life!

Remember the martyrs, who through the ages, as well as today, have had Joy even in the midst of the most awful torture and persecution. The Bible tells us that they rejoiced that they were found worthy to suffer for Jesus Christ! Gods grace is huge!!

Praise our Lord for the Joy the Holy Spirit produces in us!

Have a blessed weekend guys !

Something I have never mentioned...

Amazing, all the things that we blog about and yet it's just a tiny bit of a glimpse into someones life! I so enjoy these little glimpses - and have come to feel like most of you are old friends.......

I wanted to share with you about something a friend and I are doing, and how God is working in my life and the lives of others.
My dear friend "Kris" and I, over a year ago now, started a marriage-mentor-encouragement-group for ladies. We've never really 'promoted' it, and yet we've had over 70 ladies come and hear what God's word says about being a Godly wife and mother, once a month! We are now starting a second group tomorrow night.
**not all these precious gals come in that one evening! We could never fit all of them in mine, or Kris' home!! God brings exactly who He wants to be there for that particular evening....
Anyhow - I don't actually 'lead' the group, 'Kris' does, as we go by "the older women are to train the younger...." doesn't mean I don't share - but she's at the season where the children are grown (one is a missionary in Russia) and shares what God has taught her over the years.

It's been amazing to see GOD, working here. Sometimes, I have no words. That we serve such a big and powerful and mighty God, and He would let little me get to see firsthand what He can do.............
We've seen women who were ready to leave their husbands, reconsider, and then work on themselves (instead of trying to 'change' him) and now have such joy and peace (not to mention a husband who then did change as a result), the stories....I could go on and on.......
What I wanted to share, is something we put together, and handed out to the ladies on Joy.
Be encouraged.

Where does Joy come from? We all go through difficult times, trials, heartaches, pain, temptation - but if we strive to keep the right perspective, we can have a peace and even joy in the midst of difficult times.
  • Joy comes when you know that the God of the Universe is listening to your prayers! If you seek to obey the Lord, He will listen to you and answer!
  • Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit - Joy comes by giving to others. Stop focusing on your needs being met, and think about others.
  • Joy comes from obeying the Lord - When we seek to please God and obey Him, we know He hears our prayers. There is no greater way to feel peaceful in your heart than to know that God is going to answer. We must go against our feelings. They can lie to us. Proverbs 14:12 says "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." We can choose to be happy or miserable. It's a mindset. You choose whether to think about positive or negative things........

There's more, and I'll try to post during the week.

Praising Him ~ Kristy

I spend time every morning in prayer.
It is how I must start my day - I give everything to my Creator each morning; thanks, praise, requests, glory, more thanks, and then even more thanks!
I also ask that He would daily use me. Whether that be in my marriage, as a mom, as a friend....even as I type these words on my blog!
All to give Him glory.
This post is to do just that.
This morning as I went around and visited sites, I was overwhelmed with emotion.
All the different stories.
All the different lives.
All the pain, trials and hardships.
And yet, in most, all the joy.....

I love my life.

Does that sound stupid? I hope not, because it is so true.
I go around in this bloggy world and see into the lives and hearts of so many precious people - and every time, every single time, it puts everything into focus for me.
Not; "oh they have it bad, I'm sure glad I'm not in their shoes...." not at all.
More like....perspective, I guess.
He has ME right where He wants me. Exact-o spot.
There is comfort in that. Peace.

Lord God, you are most Amazing. You are such a good God.
Thank you for who YOU are in my life.
You have blessed this girls heart......You leave me speechless.
May You get all the glory, praise and honor.

Okay all you awesome commenter's, if you wanna leave some love; you must tell me first something that you do to give God glory. Come on, now - even if every comment answer is the same - I still wanna know!

Lots of love to you guys!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend.
