We decided to do what millions of others do on the 3-day Memorial Weekend......
go camping.
Oh yes.

With the campground full, the beer drinking at it's finest (no, no, NOT me - but the wonderful "neighbors" of ours), the music at it's loudest (again; the neighbor) and the beautiful Oregon rainy coastal weather.....
Oh yes.
Seriously, we had a lot of fun. I love my family, and just being together (squeezed in our tiny camper) makes me smile.

Oh my word. Is he not the cutest thing ever???

Hey! I'll even show ya what we camped in....are you ready?
Ya sure?

Oh yea, ain't she a beaut...??

I must say; I really like the way the lights hang about so nicely, don't you?
But once again, we had a great time together.

Look at what God did:

Isn't that stunning? Just beautiful!

Thanks, Lord.

Have a great week guys!!

A-d-o-p-t-i-o-n

When I first started this blog, it was meant to be mainly about adoption.

I've noticed that it's been quite awhile since I've said anything about our journey....sooooo, I'll give you some facts:

Our paperwork was "logged in" into the China Center of Adoption Affairs on February 17, 2006. In the past, (as my fellow 'waiting' bloggy friends already know) this process used to take 6-8 months or so from the date you 'logged in' to when you traveled to get your child.

As you can see, we've been waiting for 15 months now - and really don't have any timeline as to when we may get our referral ( matched ) let alone travel.

I just want to mention real quick, that we're okay with the wait. Not thrilled. But okay with it. God knows what He is doing, and thats good enough for me.

Anyhow- we have already chosen a name, (and actually I've shared this before,) but we have decided to name her Ellie Grace. Or "L-wie in Tine-a" as my 3 year old says. Ellie will be sharing a room with her (almost) 12 yr old sister, who by the way is beyond excited about this ! Really. (thank goodness!!)
I thought about going into how we came to choose adoption.....but naw, I did that early on in my blogging...........
So - here we are; a family that already loves a little girl, whom we've yet to meet, and cannot wait to 'grow' our home and hearts, by adding another precious little heart.
**sigh**
All that to say, again, God knows what He's doing, and sometimes He's even let me see different reasons why it's taken so long........
one being that it has given us more time to put $$ aside, and try to raise funds. In fact, here's something cool; the last 2 summers we've been entertaining the idea of having a huge outdoor party/festival/whoop-de-doo out here. I know (and even get to sing with!) some pretty incredible, talented, Godly musicians (bands) who have wanted to do this for us - with us.
I've been starting to put the wheels in motion (slowly).......and then see what happens.
Kinda like a big party (we'd provide the meat and have folks bring food) with live music (to give Him Glory!) but here is where I'm stumped-
I don't want to ask for peoples money.
Agh! This is........hard. Any suggestions? Ideas?
One thought I had, was to hit up some of our local businesses (small town=willing owners who want to help) and then see about holding like a raffle or something..........thoughts?

Well, that's where we're at. It's all good.
I have to mention too, that you folks out here in blogger land have helped to educate me so much throughout this whole adoption journey.
I am grateful.
Thank you.

Good Morning!

Agh -I am so not a savvy blogger yet, I'm lucky if I can figure out how to type my name.
I put a link to the right over there, and it's all off center and such.
Oh well.
At least I got it to post!
So now I'm asking all my bloggy friends to listen to it.
You will be changed.
I first heard this a number of months ago - and have listened many times since. I don't even have words........
God has used this mightily. You would not even begin to believe the conversations I have been privileged to be a part of after others have heard Mr. Washers sermon......
I won't say anymore, except to encourage you to listen.

Ah yes, I now have the joy of being tagged and trying to figure out what
to write about me-self!
The wonderful, lovely Emom gave me this honor.
yikes.
Seven Things About Myself
~~~~~~~~
  1. I grew up in a town about 10 miles or so from where I live now, called Boring Oregon. Really. There is such a place!!
  2. I am a country girl at heart. Hate the city.
  3. When I was in grade school my front teeth stuck out so far I had nick names like "bucky beaver" and was told I could eat corn on the cob without opening my mouth. stop laughing.
  4. I have freckles.
  5. I LOVE reading my Bible. Every time I open it, I learn something new!
  6. I am not into all the fads or movements, if you will. In fact, I go against a lot of what even 'Christian circles' go with..... oh yea baby ~ bring it on.
  7. I seek to serve, honor , and obey Jesus Christ in my life. Making him Lord of all. Of everything that I am.
(I get to have a #8....my blog.) I LOVE my handsomesexyfunnycrazyhardworkin'hunk'o'man.
Okay, so I am going to be kind and not tag anyone here. Unless you really want to do this - then hey, go for it!
Hope you all had an awesome Mothers Day. I did!
Have a great week!
Around the place!
Warm Spring day fun!
We have been having fantastic weather around here!!
Yesterday, we had 3 friends come to hang out with us for the day (and give their mom a break !!),
This is my youngest little man, with his "best fwend".
And here is the result of having 6 kids playing "road" all day.
(if ya look real hard, you can count quite a few ride on toys ! ;o) )
.....and the results of having 6 eating lunch out on the deck!
We had a blast together ~
Now I'll let you go ahead and take a walk around my place and check it out....
This one above I just finished. This was meant to be a water feature, like 3 years ago......so instead of looking at a mound of dirt for another summer - I fixed it up!
(notice yet another car from playing "road"!)
Heres a few more.....
Thanks for stoppin' by! Enjoy today !!
Oh wait, there is one more. Update on the bunny situation; all is well. My daughter made this area for him. Very sweet.
*** I keep thinking of more things: I FINALLY got around to adding my blog list on the right. I've been meaning to do this for A LONG time! I'm not done, but at least I got it started !!
Awww man.......
Last night, I posted about a wild baby bunny (newborn!) that we had found (in our dogs MOUTH) and had been raising (getting up at night and all that)for 6 days - I wasn't going to even bring it up on my blog because you just never know with these little critters, how long they'll even live......
Yup.
This morning.
My daughter is devastated (she had been raising this thing all on her own).
Would you say a little prayer for me - we're both sad, but my answer to everything is " Hey, let's eat chocolate and go shopping!" (which we might do anyway... ;o).
We've never really had something die on us, like this........Emom, Lori (you been there done that, moms!) ? ANY of you moms deal with the death of a pet recently with children grieving??
We've already talked about how 'Nutbrown' is in Heaven right now hopping around gleefully with Jesus...!
**sigh**
Happy May Day !
The kids and I started a tradition every year where we would sneak flowers onto the front door step of a few select people in our lives.
Last year we had a blast doing it. We don't really have "neighbors", if you call the people "next door" living on 40 acres? But we did leave a hanging flower basket at the home closest to our place - she was actually outside, so the kids tried to stall her while I ran it up to her door......it was very cute, as the kids didn't know what to talk to her about ( they thought that they would give it away if they said too much! )
Mission was accomplished though, and she loved it.
All that to say that, darn it, it won't be happening this year.
I'm sick.
One of those that isn't seeming to want to go away......you know how it can be.
I'm tired all the time. Yes - I'm heading to the doc......
NOT TO COMPLAIN HERE , FOLKS.
All is good !!
Just haven't been posting much......
I visited a few of my fav.'s in blog land, but didn't comment- so here goes;
Robin - I'm STILL laughing ~ Oh Lordy !
Kimmy in Canada - praying all is well with you??
Rachelle - Miss Ellie is as beautiful as ever. I love your honest heart girl !
Amy in Germany - as always; I'm praying.
Kim - your little man is a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e!! Looking forward to seeing more of him this month !
Emom - AHHH, when do you get home??!!
Jewelsofmyheart - ***smiles***
Lori - always wonderful to check in with you! Love your place!
Theres more of you......but I need to end this post.
Have a great week all !!
xoxo
